CHDR participated in an international seminar on the Holocaust in Jerusalem

In December 2012 In 2010, the United Nations Academic Impact Program -UNAI ( The United Nations Academic Impact ) in cooperation with the State of Israel, organized a seven-day seminar on the history of the Holocaust and education about the Holocaust at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Participants were scholars or educators in the fields of education, history, Jewish studies, human rights or international law, from institutions that are members of the United Nations Academic Impact Programme.

The seminar included courses on Holocaust history, Holocaust education, the Eichmann trial and its significance 50 years later, resources and tools for Holocaust education, and the consequences of the Holocaust for the 21st century. century.

Director of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation (CHDR), Dr. Darko Gavrilović , presented a project on the reconciliation program in the region of former Yugoslav countries .

Yad Vashem , the International School for Holocaust Studies, which hosted the seminar, is dedicated to researching and documenting the history of the Holocaust.

The participants of the seminar had the opportunity to hear first-hand testimonies of Holocaust survivors and to gain knowledge about ways to educate about this terrible event in order to prevent similar events in the future.

Seminars like this are important in keeping the memory of the Holocaust alive and spreading knowledge about what happened. Also, they help in education and raising awareness about the importance of human rights and preventing genocide around the world. We hope that such a seminar will continue to be organized in order to preserve the memories of the Holocaust and to prevent its recurrence.
