Development of democratic relations in the region
The Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation has been operating since 2007. has been the organizer of numerous actions that encourage the development and strengthening of democratic relations in the region.
CHDR contributes to the development of democracy and the strengthening of democratic relations in the region through the organization of meetings, round tables, summer schools and film production.
Members of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation participate in actions and projects dealing with the following topics:
Protection and sustainable development of minority rights
Issues related to refugees and migrants
The Holocaust
Anti-Semitism
The culture of memory
Interpretation of contemporary history - a path to understanding the present
All these activities are carried out in order to fulfill the main goal of CHDR, which is
Policy of regional stability and reconciliation.
The main objective of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation (CHDR) is to provide assistance and support in improving relations and to foster cooperation in the region by promoting democratic values, tolerance and peace.
Regional cooperation is a key way to keep the region stable and prosperous in the long term.

Symposium: “How much transnational cooperation does European memory require?”
Members of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation (CHDR) participated in the 2nd to the “European Remembrance” symposium in Berlin organized by the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity.

Serbian-Croatian relations: Rights of national minorities – fight against discrimination – Golubić 2013
The sixth international scientific meeting in Golubić (Obrovacki), Republic of Croatia, was held from 19 to 23. August 2013 organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation. The meeting was attended by scientists from Croatia, Serbia, the United States of America, Greece and Poland, as well as political representatives of the Croatian people in Serbia and the Serbian people in Croatia.

CHDR summer school “Nations and identities – aspects and perspectives”
The student expert meeting “Nations and Identities – Aspects and Perspectives” was held 18. and March 19, 2013. organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation.

International seminar on the Holocaust
Director of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation, Darko Gavrilović, attended the international seminar on the Holocaust, from 2 until 9 December 2012 in Yad Vashem in Jerusalem (Israel) and on that occasion presented a project on the reconciliation program in the region of the former Yugoslavia.

Croatian-Serbian relations: Solving open issues – Golubić 2012
The fifth, jubilee international scientific conference on Serbian-Croatian relations was held from 31 July to 3 August 2012 in Golubić (Obrovacki), Republic of Croatia.

Serbian-Croatian relations: Twenty years after the war in Croatia – Golubić 2011
In Golubić (Croatia) from 23. until the 25th August 2011 in the organization of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation (CHDR), the now traditional 4th academic conference “Serbian-Croatian relations: Twenty years after the war in Croatia” was held

Croatian-Serbian relations in the 20th century. century: Political and cultural cooperation – Golubić 2010
The scientific meeting was held from 22. until the 25th August 2010 in the renovated village school in Golubić and Zadar. This scientific meeting was jointly organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation – Novi Sad, the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation (AHCR) – Obrovac, the Balkan Trust for Democracy, Belgrade and the City of Obrovac, with the help of a large number of donors.

Who’s who in the Balkans today: myth-making and identity mutations
CHDR members participated in the 11. The Mediterranean research meeting that was held near Florence (Italy) from 24 until the 27th March 2010 years.

The myth factory: Political myths in the former Yugoslavia and its successor states
Members of the “Factory of Myths: Political Myths in the Area of the Former Yugoslavia and Successor States” team, which is part of the “Meeting the Past – Searching for the Future” project, met in The Hague from 22 until the 26th February 2010 in order to work on writing a joint narrative related to the mentioned topic.
