Republika Srpska Krajina – political and demographic changes

The goal of the project was to lay the demographic foundations for further in-depth research into demographic trends (migration, refugee, return). Research is necessary in the process of organizing a documentation center within the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration (KIRS). They were carried out through the collection of historical material and other documentation.

Since it is an extensive idea of ​​KIRS, the project plan was to analyze population changes in the territory of the Republic of Srpska Krajina during the war in Croatia within the framework of migratory movements in the territory of the SFRY from its disintegration until today.

In addition to the historical framework of the origin, development and disappearance of the aforementioned state, this project also offered research of importance for the collection of material and documentation on the population in the territory of the Republic of Serbian Krajina, on refugees from that area as well as returnees under the Readmission Agreement.

The project ended with the publication of the book “ Republika Srpska Krajina – political and demographic changes.”“. The book was written as co-authors by Daniela Arsenović and Darko Gavrilović . Janko Veselinović also participated in the project.

The part of the study related to political changes and war events in the territory of the Republic of Croatia was written by Darko Gavrilović, while the analysis of demographic changes , based on previous scientific findings, as well as census materials and statistics, was presented by Daniela Arsenović.
