In Golubić (Obrovac) 24. and August 25, 2015. In 2008, the international scientific meeting “Croatian-Serbian political relations in the 20th century” was held. century”
The meeting “Serbian-Croatian relations” is an integral part of the activities of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation and the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation in order to achieve a comprehensive policy of regional stability and reconciliation .
Scientists from Croatia, Serbia, Hungary and Germany participated in the meeting.
On the second day of the meeting, after the presented works, the scientists reached conclusions.
On that occasion, they assessed that politics and politicians in the two countries should not interpret the past for the purpose of cheap politics. The past should be left to scientists. On the crimes of the past, the victims and their suffering, we should not build a policy that misremembers and carries out revenge.
If crimes are taught with fear, then we encourage new crimes. This is how we leave our children and future generations an unbreakable circle of hatred and revenge. Therefore, all victims should be commemorated with dignity and a lesson that the evil that ended their lives must not be repeated.
The opinion of those present is that in order to strengthen political ties, we should work on a joint interpretation of topics from the history of relations between the two countries and peoples.
