Scientific gatherings
In the past 15 years, the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation has organized more than 30 international scientific meetings.
At the scientific meetings, we gathered a large number of scientists from the region, but also important names from the world scientific community.
The main guiding idea of everyone at all our gatherings is to help in the process of democratization and reconciliation in our region .
The main topics of CHDR scientific meetings are in the areas of:
- protection and sustainable development of national minorities with an emphasis on Serbian-Croatian relations,
- culture of memory,
- Holocaust, anti-Semitism,
- refugees and migrants,
- political myths and
- policies of regional stability and reconciliation.

Croatian-Serbian relations – issues of national minorities, political myths, dominant narratives and the culture of memory – Golubić 2021
The 14th international scientific conference in Golubić was held from 23 until the 26th August 2021 years. This year’s meeting was entitled “Croatian-Serbian relations – issues of national minorities, political myths, dominant narratives and the culture of memory”. The organizers of the meeting were the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation from Novi Sad and the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation from Obrovac.
Serbian-Croatian relations: Extremism as a factor in the destabilization of the region – Golubić 2020
The thirteenth international scientific meeting on “Serbian-Croatian relations” was held in the form of an internet conference on 24 August 2020 years. The organizers of the meeting – Darko Gavrilović in front of the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation and Janko Veselinović in front of the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation – traditionally traveled to Golubić to host the conference from the Golubić school.
Croatian-Serbian relations: Refugees, returnees and ideology as factors of identity building – Golubić 2019
The Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation from Novi Sad and the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation from Obrovac organized the twelfth scientific conference on “Serbian-Croatian relations”. The meeting was held from 22. August to 25 August 2019 in Golubić (Croatia).
Serbian-Croatian relations: Dominant state narratives and culture of memory in Croatia and Serbia – Golubić 2018
The international scientific conference on “Serbian-Croatian relations” was held for the eleventh time in Golubić, in the period from 20 until the 25th August 2018 years. The Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation from Novi Sad (Serbia) and the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation from Obrovac (Croatia) were also this time the organizers of the meeting.

The organizers of the meeting, as in previous years, were the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation from Novi Sad (Serbia) and the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation from Obrovac (Croatia).
Croatian-Serbian relations: Refugees and migrants, peaceful coexistence and crisis resolution – Golubić 2016
In the period of 19 until the 24th August 2016, the ninth international scientific conference was held in Golubić (Obrovac) in the Republic of Croatia. This meeting was entitled “Croatian-Serbian relations, refugees and migrants, peaceful coexistence and resolution of the crisis”. The organizer of the meeting, as in all previous years, was the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation (Serbia) with the help of the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation (Croatia).

The international scientific meeting “European migration crisis 1945-2015, causes and consequences” was held in the Ceptor Center in Andrevlje from 31. March to 2 April 2016 organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation (CHDR).

The seventh, international scientific meeting “Serbian-Croatian relations in the 20th century – protection of identity” was held in Golubić (Obrovac) in the Republic of Croatia, from 22 until the 27th August 2014 organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation from Novi Sad and the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation from Obrovac.
Serbian-Croatian relations: Rights of national minorities – fight against discrimination – Golubić 2013
The sixth international scientific meeting in Golubić (Obrovacki), Republic of Croatia, was held from 19 to 23. August 2013 organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation. The meeting was attended by scientists from Croatia, Serbia, the United States of America, Greece and Poland, as well as political representatives of the Croatian people in Serbia and the Serbian people in Croatia.

The fifth, jubilee international scientific conference on Serbian-Croatian relations was held from 31 July to 3 August 2012 in Golubić (Obrovacki), Republic of Croatia.

The scientific meeting was held from 22. until the 25th August 2010 in the renovated village school in Golubić and Zadar. This scientific meeting was jointly organized by the Center for History, Democracy and Reconciliation – Novi Sad, the Association for History, Cooperation and Reconciliation (AHCR) – Obrovac, the Balkan Trust for Democracy, Belgrade and the City of Obrovac, with the help of a large number of donors.
